I partnered up with my long time friend Geri and created this trip for anyone who has Norway on their bucket list. We were working together with Scandia World Travel but now Geri is working on a worldwide cruise as a cruise director and we have put everything on hold. This Grand Tour of Norway will take you through some of the best mountains, fjords, and coastlines that Norway has to offer. We will focus on it’s three most impressive cities: Oslo, Bergen and Trondheim. We will also enjoy the world famous Norwegian Fjords on the west coast. This is the trip for active older adults, with a group size limited to only 20 guests.
This trip is more than a regular tourist tour! Along with meeting new friends, you will also meet the locals and experience Norway like the natives. We will have a one of a kind experience, celebrating the Norwegian National Holiday on the 17th of May in traditional style. May is a wonderful time to visit Norway. With long light evenings, it truly is the land of the midnight sun!
Benedicte Schøyen, born and raised in Oslo will be your Norwegian guide, offering her experience from a local’s point of view. Geri Jones from San Diego, is a world traveler and fitness professional. Their love of travel and connecting with their guests will make this a truly unforgettable experience!
Geri and Benedicte met working on the set of a TV show in LA. They have both had long careers in theatre and television as singer/, dancer/choreographers. On this trip they will offer Pilates and stretching classes when time and place is available , to keep our guests fit and flexible!
Overview:
Four days in Oslo, touring its many sights: the Royal Palace, Viking Ship museum, Vigeland Sculpture Park, Munch Museum, sunset shrimp cruise in the Oslo fjord with musical entertainment.. All culminating with Norway's national holiday celebration, the 17th of May.
Norway in a nutshell train ride from Oslo to Flam. The flam Railway is an incredible journey that takes guests through the mountain plateaus at Myrdal to the steep valley and the fjords in Flam.
Continue scenic route in the fjords to Bergen by boat. Guided walking tour with visit to popular fish and flower market, Bryggen Harbor and Old Hanseatic Quarter. Funicular to Mt. Floyen for spectacular views of the city and fjords.
A short flight from Bergen to final stop , Trondheim, with 11th Century historic charm, gothic cathedral, and local house concert. Depart to Oslo, for LAX.
Travel Details:
Depart LAX - Wednesday May 13th 7:40pm Norwegian Air. Direct flight 10 ½ hours.
Arrive Oslo Thursday May 14th 3pm. Check into Thon Hotel Gyldenlove, Majorstuen. 4 days Oslo.
Depart Monday May 18th 8:25am scenic train to Flam. Check into hotel in Flam.
Tuesday May 19th sail the fjords to Bergen by boat, bus, and train. Check into Thon Hotel Orion. 2 days Bergen.
Thursday May 21st quick 45min flight to Trondheim. Check in Hotel Prinsen. 3 days Trondheim.
BOOKING YOUR TRIP:
Total cost - $3875.00 per person / double room. Single travelers are very welcome, with surcharge of $850.00
This includes - Airfare and all other transportation expenses, All Hotels, Norway in a Nutshell Tour (train, bus, and cruise through the fjords), Three meals per day at excellent restaurants, all activities, hikes, tours, special performances, unique experiences and fitness classes listed in the program.

Final payment is due on March 9th, 2020. All travelers joining the tour will be invited to a meet and greet in Ojai, Los Angeles, and San Diego. We look forward to meeting you and taking you on an unforgettable adventure!

Cancellations received between 60 to 21 days prior to the start of the tour will be subject to a 50% cancellation fee. In the case of a non show, we reserve the right to charge the full tour price.
There is no Visa requirement for travel to Norway. Valid passport is required for all travelers.
