Born To Play Productions 

Benedicte Schoyen, owner 

Benedicte is from Oslo, Norway where she graduated at The National College of Dance. (B.A) 

She worked as a professional dancers on stage and in television before she moved to Los Angeles and opened up her own studio: Santa Monica Dance Studio. Benedicte also taught ballet and Jazz at UCLA, Musical Theater Department and World Arts & Culture for many years. 

She is currently living in Ojai, CA with her husband Ned Clark, while keeping her Norwegian connection strong with numerous choreography jobs for Norwegian Broadcasting (NRK) and others throughout the years.

 

She is now taking her dance experience and moving into film making, editing and videography, combining her passion for dance, music and travel with film.

  

She directed her first documentary film Roadtrip Niger in 2016, and The Old Spanish Trail in 2018. 

Summer of 2017 and 2018 she put on her "tour manager hat" and took The National Cash Band, a Johnny Cash tribute on tour to Norway and Sweden. In 2007 she produced The Music Box - A Dance Along Fairytale, a 40 minute film for young children. 

Her husband Ned Clark is a musician with a B.A. from CalArts. He has so far done most of the music for all the Born To Play's productions. 

Benedicte is currently collaborating with talent and producers, working on new projects TBA.
